As the letters of agreement start to trickle in, the Write Stuff committee realizes how much we have to be thankful for this year. It's fun to envision the conference, but our enthusiasm rises to a whole new level as we start to see the conference come together in black and white—complete with signatures!
At this time we'd like to announce our first agent for our 2011 conference: Sarah LaPolla of Curtis Brown, Ltd.
About Curtis Brown
Curtis Brown is a major agency which currently employs 32 people in their New York and San Francisco offices. Since 1914, when founder Curtis Brown moved his agency from London to New York, the agency has handled more than 50,000 contracts. Today separate offices of Curtis Brown exist in New York, London, Toronto and Sydney, each operating as an independent company.

About Sarah LaPolla
Sarah began at Curtis Brown in 2008, working with Dave Barbor and Peter Ginsberg. Sarah graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Writing and English, and went on to receive her MFA in Creative Writing from The New School.
Sarah is interested in literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, science fiction, literary horror, and young adult fiction. She loves complex characters, coming-of-age stories, and strong narrators.
Sarah is not interested in picture books, self-help books, romance, or non-fiction (other than narrative).
Good news: she is always on the lookout for debut authors!
